SCHOOL FOR DIGITAL MUSIC
PRODUCTION & COMPOSITION

MOZART and BEETHOVEN

Began their journeys as great composers at a young age.

Traditional music lessons continue to be taught through learning an instrument by replicating and performing existing music.

We strive to broaden the approach of teaching music to the developing youth.
By incorporating modern music technology and applicable skills that can be applied in today’s digitally incorporated world.

Learn to Produce Music
The Glim School of Music provides an engaging, applicable, hands-on method to learning how to produce music “in the box,” which means entirely through computer software without recording or live instruments. Our program is designed for aspiring musicians as young as 8-years old to feel driven to develop and enjoy making music. We upload their progress on the internet, allowing them to share their work with family, friends, and others. As we share their music, we make this an opportunity to develop our students’ understanding of the business and the legal side of the music industry. Our goal is for students to create music they themselves can enjoy and feel confident enough to apply the skills they learn in our digitally inclined environment.

REWARDING LEVELS!

Achievement Award Levels

Similar to games or martial arts, ranks and certificates are provided to students for reaching certain milestones. Each achievement level would feature up to 5 Badges, except for Bronze which only contains 3 badges, to mark the completion of each set of lessons. This provides the students with validation for their readiness to advance through further topics.

ADDITIONAL ACHIEVEMENT BADGES!

Side Achievement Goals

As students begin to perfect fundamental skills related to music theory and using the various applications being used to produce their music they will receive badges. This is done to not only provide recognition but to provide additional motivation beyond simply progressing through the course.

OUR PROGRAM

Live Sessions (1 hour and 15 minutes)

Portfolio Management/Development (1 Hour)

Our live sessions are split into portions starting with a short lesson, in theory, exercises that help them put the topic into practice, and lastly, starting on the lesson, a supervised hands-on application of what was learned. Depending on the pacing of the student, the results of their application would go through portfolio management and development by the instructor

Outside of the live session, the instructor enhances the quality of the students' work through a process called mixing and mastering until they learn to do it themselves. For students in beginner lessons, this is where the professor prepares the student’s applied music work for them to share with friends and family.

Example, the very first lesson (2 sessions) for true beginner students would be to add their own drum remix to a popular song of their choice while the instructor completes the rest of the remix.

WE KNOW...
The business and legal side of music can be confusing but we’re here to help!
We want our students get their music out there so people can hear it.

Our students have the ability to earn through their talents and we help them make it happen.
